Subject: [BlueDragon] postgresql cfstoredproc

I am trying to determin best route to convert
MS SQL  ---> stored procedures

INTO

PostgreSQL ----> functions (from reading these seem to similar to sp in
MS)

In my CF app i had previously built system
using <cfstoredproc> statements also with ProcParam & ProcResults.
I am trying to connect Postgre Functions while still retaining code with
<cfstoredproc>.
I do not want to revert to cfquery, and i want the benefit of SQL code not
being stored
at client.

This does not appear possible or simple,
i do get error saying my "db does not support s. proc".
The reality seems that BDrag does not support Postgre using sp!!
BDrag shud support sp's with Postgre, especially cuz sp/function are
possible
and Postgre is 1/2 default JDBC in your server.
What is best solution to use SQL stored on server, or is there future plans for

<cfstoredproc> to connect with postgre functions.
This wud save CFM code rewrites if used PROC in previous db.

I also reviewed postgre refcursor, and the BDrag manual which
gave example of using CFStoredProc with an Oracle refcursor.
Cud this method b used for postgre, i hope so!!

My other option is to rewrite app back to cfquery (arrgh, we recently changed
all to sp),
then send short postgre comand with FROM function (not very encapsulated).
Here is example

<cfquery>
SELECT * FROM DefPostgreFunction(#AnyVars#);

This seems like a back step from my old sp,
especially if postgre has cursors and similar to oracle.

Thanks for any/all ppls help on this, hope it is a nice sunday for you.
