Martin, IIS does indeed run on XP, as long as you're running XP Pro, that
is. XP home, which may be what you're thinking of, does not support it out
of the box, but the following are just a couple of many links about how to

As for running IIS 6 on 2000 (or XP), I would doubt that's possible (but
leave it to people to try, as above). I think there are too many hooks into
Win2k3.
