Category Class Loading/Reloading
Question Why aren't my classes which are in the classpath automatically reloaded when they are modified?
Answer Classes which are in the Main ServletExec classpath cannot be automatically reloaded. The only way to reload these classes is to re-init ServletExec. With IIS you must completely stop IIS and restart IIS in order to re-init ServletExec. The procedure for stopping IIS differs for IIS 3.0 and 4.0:

  • Completely stop IIS 3.0 by stopping all of the IIS services (FTP, Gopher, WWW).

  • Completely stop IIS 4.0 by stopping the IIS Admin Service from the Services Control Panel; or, you can completely stop IIS 4.0 by using the stop_iis.bat file, which is located in the ...\Program Files\New Atlanta\ServletExec ISAPI folder.

  • Completely stop IIS 5.0 by stopping the IIS Admin Service from the Services Control Panel or by using the stop_iis.bat command file, which is located in the ...\Program Files\New Atlanta\ServletExec ISAPI folder; or by using the Restart IIS command from the Internet Services Manager.
