Free ServletExec Debugger 4.1 Released

Release offers support for Servlet 2.3 & JSP 1.2 specifications

Alpharetta, Georgia - November 19, 2001- New Atlanta Communications, LLC is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the ServletExecTM Debugger 4.1, free for developing and debugging Servlets and JavaServer Pages (JSP). Offered as a plug-in for the most popular Java IDEs available, the ServletExec Debugger comes with a built-in web server and Servlet engine (ServletExec), enabling developers to quickly begin testing their web applications.

"ServletExec has always been free for any development purpose, and with this latest release of the ServletExec Debugger, your web applications can be debugged from within your favorite IDE for free too," said Vince Bonfanti, President of New Atlanta.

Supported IDEs include:

  • Borland JBuilder 4 & 5 (Windows)
  • Sun Microsystems Forte for Java, Community Edition 2.0 & 3.0 (Windows & UNIX)
  • WebGain VisualCafé 4.0, 4.1, & 4.5 (Windows)
  • IBM VisualAge for Java 3.5 & 4 (Windows)
  • Metrowerks CodeWarrior Pro 5.3, & 6 (Windows)
  • Java Development Kits, Java 2 SDK v1.2 & v1.3 (Windows & UNIX)

The ServletExec Java Servlet/JSP engine enables the development, testing and deployment of web-based applications, allowing companies to leverage existing IT infrastructure to provide dynamic, real-time access to corporate data by customers, employees, partners and suppliers through server-side functionality and seamless integration with backend systems.

The Debugger closely simulates the ServletExec deployment environment to allow the development of portable, standards-based web applications on all major web servers, including Microsoft IIS, Netscape/iPlanet, and Apache. ServletExec 4.1 is supported on all major operating systems, including Windows NT/2000, SPARC Solaris, Linux and AIX.

By utilizing the Debugger, ServletExec provides customers the opportunity to better manage their IT spending by developing and testing their web applications for free. The Servlets developed with the ServletExec Debugger can then be put into production by copying the servlet class file(s) and ServletExec configuration files to a deployment server, making the actual roll-out simple and straightforward.

Pricing and Availability

Free for development and testing, ServletExec Debugger 4.1 and the development version of ServletExec 4.1 are available for immediate download at: www.newatlanta.com. Deployment pricing is unchanged from version 4.0 and begins at $695 for a single CPU machine with unlimited clients.
