Configuring ServletExec to work with ArcIMS 9.0:
Note: If you ran the ArcIMS 9.0 Post Installer and allowed it to
perform the Automated Web server - Servlet Engine configuration, then
ServletExec and your web server should already be configured to use the ArcIMS Servlet Connector,
and you can skip this step.
Otherwise, you will need to manually configure ServletExec and your Web Server to use the ArcIMS Servlet Connector.
One way to do this manually is to carefully follow the steps given in the ArcIMS 9.0 Installation Guide
(/Documentation/Install.htm on the ArcIMS 9.0 CD).
You can find the steps in the section labeled "How to manually configure your Web server" which can be found under step #4
entitled: "Configure your Web server".
Note:
- Here is how to stop, start, or restart IIS
-
If you find that you need to assign file permissions to the ServletExec ISAPI folder, be sure to set
them for the following 3 principles:
- IUSR_ <machine name>
- System
- Authorized Users
And be sure to propogate the permissions down through all subfolders and subcontents
using the techniques described at SE FAQ #60
