JTurbo is a Type 4 JDBC driver, with no "native" code. JTurbo is 100% pure Java, which means it can run on any standard Java platform without additional software from the DBMS vendor. JTurbo also now includes support for Java 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0 (J2SE 5.0).

JTurbo supports the JDBC 3.0, 2.1 and 1.22 specifications by Sun Microsystems.

JTurbo supports both Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005, and also includes support for Windows (NTLM version 2) Authentication.

JTurbo is highly optimized for performance and scalability. Supported platforms include Windows 2000/XP/2003, UNIX, Linux and Mac.

While not directly supported by New Atlanta, JTurbo should also work on NOVELL, Digital UNIX, AS/400 and OS/390 platforms.
